Crawford's delightfully socialistic/sociological setting is underpinned by a rotationally permutated accompaniment that (I think) symbolizes the repetitive work of the immigrant laborer. That, and it's awesome.

Good find. When was this written, again? I can't remember off the top of my head. Either way, it's a cool, very, very ultramodern, piece.
I just wish there was more.
Uh, about 1934 I think, at the height of the New York artist-as-socialist lefty movement. I'll look it up.
