Written in 1959, John Cage's Water Walk is scored for a number of objects, including bathtub, rubber duck, prepared piano and five radios. It was originally premiered on the Italian TV show Lascia O Raddoppia. Here, John performs the piece in America, on "I've Got a Secret," in 1960.
To me, it is a beautiful performance as is. But, it is somehow more pleasurable, more serene, with all the laughs coming from the audience.
Who says sophisticated organizational techniques don't produce awesome music? Just awesome.

And quite frankly, I think this is one of the most inviting introductions to John Cage and his brand of musical thought.
